Small Business Entrepreneurships

The Louisiana Dept. of Environmental Quality supports programs which promote the growth and development of businesses. To this end, LDEQ participates in setting goals for EPA grants and agency endeavors under the Louisiana Initiative for Small Entrepreneurship (a.k.a. “The Hudson Initiative”). The Governor’s Executive Order on small purchases BJ201-16 requires the solicitation of small & emerging businesses, where feasible. Although rules and procedures are being promulgated for the Hudson Initiative, this is a non-gender specific, goal oriented program.   To ensure bidding opportunities through LDEQ all vendors should register on-line at LA PAC

Training Opportunities

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) has initiated an effort to improve the technical competency of Small and Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) as they  compete for environmental cleanup jobs in a challenging market. Its key purpose is to provide targeted access to training and technology transfer in advanced technology and business growth areas in site characterization and remediation. For additional information on this initiative, visit www.cluin.org/smallbusiness.
