Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree with a major in one of the following scientific fields: animal science, biological sciences, chemistry, geosciences, atmospheric sciences, soil sciences, physical geography, physics, health sciences, toxicology, environmental sciences, wildlife and fisheries sciences, engineering, nuclear science, agronomy, forestry, health physics, medical physics, or statistics and quantitative methods.
Job Description: Responding and investigating chemical and radiological emergencies, conducting compliance inspections, field sampling, responding to citizen complaints, researching and writing permits, or statistical/data assessment (Dependent upon Office/Division placement).
This position is part of a career progression group and may be filled as an Environmental Scientist 1, 2 or 3. Environmental Chemical Specialist
Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
Job Description: Performs detailed engineering review of processes and/or emission control technology, researching and writing complex air permits, or assists in answering questions on environmental matters from the general public, environmental groups and the regulated community (Dependent upon Office/Division placement).

Qualifications: Engineer Intern Applicant: Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate. Most candidates are eligible for an Engineer Intern Certificate upon completion of an accredited engineering program. Engineer Intern: Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate. Job Description: Performing complex mathematical modeling for point source waste load allocations, non-point source load allocations, effluent mixing, etc., provide technical assistance with field survey planning, or provide an advanced level of engineering and technical assistance to the various Divisions, in compliance inspections, and in the evaluation of permit applications for facilities which generate, store, transport, treat or dispose of hazardous waste
(Dependent upon Office/Division placement).
