| Lafayette Household Hazardous Material Collection Day 2001 Lafayette had 906 citizens drop off hazardous materials at their public works complex on November 3, 2001. This was the parish's first Household Hazardous Waste Collected Day since May 1, 1999. Volunteers said an average of 100 cars moved through the site each hour. Materials Collected Included: -

350 Computers/Electronics Amy Erwin, LA Corporate Recycling Council, Executive Director, was on hand to collect old computers, printers and other electronics that will be used to train computer technician students at Lafayette Charter School and 63 other campuses across the nation. Griff Blakewood, UL Lafayette assistant professor of renewable resources, led a team of seven AmeriCorps volunteers that collected gallons of paint for future AmeriCorps and Habitat for Humanity projects. |
