Outside of Incident Command, DEQ has established a "Headquarters Hurricane Coordination Unit" to facilitate regulatory, governmental and business related questions. Beau James Brock, Assistant to the Secretary, is responsible as Hurricane Coordinator, and his leadership team consists of DEQ Deputy Secretary Alex Appeaning, Jeffrey Nolan, Chris Piehler, Ombudsman Perry Theriot, and Alex Prochaska.
