NOTICE FOR DEBRIS SITES REOPENING. Any local government or state agency intending to reopen a vegetative hurricane debris site after a closure assessment has been conducted, for either FEMA approved contracts for Private Property Debris Removal (PPDR), the NRCS approved project for the removal of hurricane debris from state waters, or for any other reason, must notify the Department. Outside of Incident Command, DEQ has established a "Headquarters Hurricane Coordination Unit" to facilitate regulatory, governmental and business related questions. Beau James Brock, Assistant to the Secretary, is responsible as Hurricane Coordinator, and his leadership team consists of DEQ Deputy Secretary Alex Appeaning, Jeffrey Nolan, Chris Piehler, Ombudsman Perry Theriot, and Alex Prochaska.
