DIVISIONS » Air Quality Assessment
Welcome to the Air Quality Assessment Division Minimize

This Division manages a large number of activities in support of the overall air program in Louisiana.

Air Quality Reports- Written reports from special air monitoring projects.

Ambient Air Quality Monitoring - For information about our statewide criteria pollutant monitoring network, to view the current air quality information, or to get information relative to specific monitoring projects.

Ozone - Louisiana is in attainment for all federal NAAQS pollutants, with the exception of ozone in the five parish area that includes the city of Baton Rouge.  Read about the newly proposed revision to the standard, the current work of the Statewide Ozone Steering Committee, past activities of the HRVOC workgroup, and the Technical Review Team, or find out more about the status of non-attainment for Louisiana.

Emissions Reporting & Inventory Center (ERIC) - This broad area includes management of emissions information that is reported directly to the DEQ by industry.  Discreet program areas include the ERIC system which consolidated reporting under both the old EI and TEDI systems. Here you can view historical EI and TEDI reports, and get information about the EPA's National Air Toxics Assessment (NATA) Report.  You can also access  Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) resources that include EPA's website and archived Louisiana TRI Reports.

Modeling Resources - Provides guidance regarding oxone modeling protocols as well as assistance with PSD modeling.

Emissions Testing Tools for Facilities -Provides guidelines for facilities to use when conducting performance and emissions testing of their components.

Air Quality Planning - Resources and information relative to both short and long range air quality planning for the state and for development and maintenance of federally required state implementation plans (SIPs) to ensure compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) found in Section 110 of the Clean Air Act (CAA).

Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program - This program is required by Section 182 (c)(3) of the Clean Air Act for the purpose of reducing vehicle emissions in the Baton Rouge ozone non-attainment area  (Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, and West Baton Rouge parishes).

While the Air Permitting program is not a part of the structure of the Air Quality Assessment Division, the operations of the two are inter-related.  To get information relative to permitting requirements or regulatory guidance, please access their area of the website.
