Happy Birthday
Earth Day..
Help Us Celebrate!
Earth Day is an event founded in 1970 to celebrate the natural beauty and resources of our planet, and to bring together many diverse individuals and groups committed to protecting public health and the environment.
This web site, sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, celebrates Earth Day in Louisiana and brings together many organizations, institutions, and agencies interested in the environment and Louisiana's precious natural resources. Are you planning an Earth Day event? Let us know, and we will post it on our web site. Is your organization or institution preparing an Earth Day page for your web site? Let us know and we'll link to it.
Earth Day is for everyone, so plan a family Earth Day activity. Work on an environmental merit badge. Organize an environmental event at your school. The links provided below are just a sampling of ideas for projects you can do right here in our own "backyard."
