This webinar will provide an overview of the Superfund Program and Superfund Sites. This webinar will answer questions such as: What exactly is a Superfund Site? What actions does the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) take under the Superfund Program? Why do some sites stay as “proposed” instead of being listed as Superfund? Are new Superfund Sites still being listed? What happens to a Superfund site after cleanup? We will discuss all of this as well as describe the interaction between the Federal Superfund Program and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. Participants will also learn why the Superfund has not been super-funded since 1990 and what this means for cleanup magnitudes and durations. To register, email your request to enviroschool@la.gov.
