Hazardous Waste Class I and Class II Modifications

Label Requests

The following is for facilities requesting labels in order to send public notices to those who requested to be included in the DEQ permits mailing list.

LDEQ mailing list includes a hard copy mailing list and an electronic (email) mailing list.

You can request mailing list labels from DEQ for a certain permitting activity by e-mailing us at DEQ.PUBLICNOTICES@LA.GOV

We need the following information:

  • The Company Name
  • Facility Name
  • Telephone Number
  • City and Parish where the facility is located
  • Mailing Address
  • Agency Interest (AI) Number

You will be receiving a PDF document that includes the labels for the mailing list. Since our mailing list is updated continously, please request new labels for every time you need to send out a notice to the mailing list.

Important

For the electronic list (email list): immediately after sending the notices by mail, forward an electronic copy of the notice to DEQ.PUBLICNOTICES@LA.GOV. PPG will process the emailed notice and you will get your receipts that the notices were emailed via the list server, by email.

Notice of Intent to Comply (NIC)

Information to Facilities

The HWC MACT Rule requires Phase I sources making a technology change to meet the replacement standards and all Phase II sources to develop a Notice of Intent to Comply (NIC). Prior to submitting the final NIC to the Administrative Authority, facilities must develop a draft NIC and hold a public meeting on the draft NIC. The following is information related to NIC implementation.

As the draft NIC must be made available to the public, DEQ requests that the draft NIC be put in the parish library and submitted to DEQ. The draft NIC will be linked on the Public Participation Group's website and scanned into DEQ's electronic document management system. The draft NIC must be submitted to DEQ's Public Participation Group at least three business days prior to the notice being published. For those wishing to use FedEx, DHL or UPS, the physical address is:

Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality
Office of Environmental Services
Public Participation Group
602 North 5th Street
Baton Rouge, LA 70802

If you need information prior to the sample notice being posted, please call the Public Participation Group at (225)219-3276 or (225)219-0790.
