Mission
The Southwest Louisiana Regional Office serves Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon parishes. Located in the heart of Louisiana’s energy corridor, this region is home to major petrochemical plants, oil and gas facilities, and refining operations that drive both local and national economies.
Staff at the Southwest Regional Office conduct inspections, monitor facility releases, and respond to citizen complaints to ensure environmental protection in this highly industrialized area. With its focus on the energy sector, the office plays a critical role in balancing industrial growth with community health and environmental stewardship. By working closely with residents and businesses, the Southwest Regional Office helps safeguard air, water, and land resources while supporting one of Louisiana’s most vital industries.
Chrissie Gubancsik
Regional ManagerGubancsik received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management Systems, with a concentration in Policy Analysis, from Louisiana State University. Since joining LDEQ in 2002, Gubancsik worked in the Enforcement Division and Underground Storage Tanks Division as an Environmental Scientist, DCL-A, and Supervisor. She became the Regional Manager of the Southwest Regional Office in November 2021.
