FEMA Extends Deadline to Apply for Assistance to Oct. 1

BATON ROUGE, La. –Homeowners and renters in Avoyelles; Lafourche, Pointe Coupee, St. Landry, St. Tammany, and Terrebonne parishes with damage from Tropical Storm Arthur that occurred on June 17–24, now have until Oct. 1, 2026, to apply for federal disaster assistance.

At the request of the state of Louisiana, FEMA extended the application deadline by 30 days to assist residents in their recovery.

The quickest way to apply is by going online at disasterassistance.gov/ or by downloading the FEMA App for mobile devices.
