LDEQ General Counsel Noah Hoggatt

Baton Rouge, LA – On April 24, 2024, Secretary Aurelia S. Giacometto announces Noah Hoggatt as Executive Counsel of LDEQ.

Noah practiced law in both the public and private sectors. After law school, Hoggatt worked in-house for a supermajor integrated oil and gas company, with an emphasis on land use and inshore and offshore production. Thereafter, he joined a private firm where he honed his ability to resolve complex disputes arising from the energy sector through both negotiation and litigation. He comes to us from the Louisiana Public Service Commission where he worked with regulators, industry, and private citizens to improve our state’s access to consistent and affordable energy.

Hoggatt graduated from Louisiana State University in 2011 and received a Bachelor of General Studies with minors in Leadership and History and Political Science. He went on to attend LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2014 where he received his Juris Doctorate.  Before coming to LSU, Hoggatt proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman with two combat deployments to Iraq.

Noah is a native of Oxford, MS, and has lived and worked in Louisiana for more than 20 years.

Please join us in congratulating Noah Hoggatt on his new role!
