Winter Storm Emergency Declaration
On Friday, Jan. 19, LDEQ Secretary Dr. Chuck Carr Brown issued an emergency declaration in response to the winter storm of Jan. 16, 2018. The document authorizes special actions and restrictions for wastewater treatment systems, solid waste systems, hazardous waste handling, open burning, special waste disposal and other extraordinary conditions that arise due to the storm.
