LDEQ announces $13.63 million in new Clean Water State Revolving Fund loans
BATON ROUGE, LA - The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) has provided $13.63 million in new financial assistance through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) to four Louisiana communities, supporting continued investment in wastewater and other infrastructure projects.
LDEQ has closed 15 loans across 12 parishes in FY 2026, and has currently closed three loans in an additional three parishes in FY 2027. These loans will fund the creation of a new wastewater treatment plant; rehabilitation and enhancements to multiple, pump stations, and wastewater treatment plants, closed circuit television investigations, and an On-Site Wastewater Treatment Pilot Study. These projects will upgrade critical infrastructure and improve water quality across the state.
The new assistance agreements, announced Oct. 7 for state fiscal year 2027, include:
- Town of Blanchard: $6.07 million
- Town of Delhi: $1.06 million
- Town of Winnsboro: $2 million
- Town of Farmerville: $4.5 million
LDEQ administers the CWSRF program, which provides low-interest loans to finance eligible projects that help communities comply with the federal Clean Water Act. The funds come from federal grants and matching monies generated through interest and loan repayments, creating backing for future clean water projects.
“LDEQ’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund provides our communities with funding options to make critical investments in water infrastructure,” said Sierra Templet, Program Manager for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund. “These investments are essential to protecting public health, improving water quality and building stronger, more resilient communities across Louisiana.”
The CWSRF program accepts pre-applications throughout the year, and LDEQ staff are available to help potential borrowers understand the application process. For more information visit: https://www.deq.louisiana.gov/page/clean-water-state-revolving-fund
